Is shredded paper good bedding?

well i find shredded paper pretty good but it doesnt need to have toxic chemicals on it and newspaper is pretty good, and also it doesn't need to be shredded into lons but into more rectangular short pieces, u might be able to get a paper shedder to do this yourself. thats what i usually do. i have one that cuts it up into small diamond shaped pieces. using paper is pretty good for rodents and they usually seem to like it. i would take the paper out if u are having troubles with it afterwards, because the paper may be toxic. but i use newspaper with my rats and they seem to do pretty well with that considering we get the paper everyday it works out well. :]
