Looking for a simple cell phone with good reception?

I currently own a Nokia 6130 and I use T-Mobile. When it's out of my pocket, it's alright...very ugly icons and hard to navigate menus, but it's useable. However, when it's in my pocket, it gets NO reception. Its vibration feature is also very weak, so I miss calls anyway. I'm looking to buy a new phone, preferably under $100 (but I could buy one used) and I'm looking for some of your opinions. Have you owned a great phone that was simple, but had great reception and looked nice? Any suggestions? I don't need touchscreens or a PDA or anything like that.
