Has the history of intolerance, torture and murder in the name of Catholicism been matched in Protestantism?

In condemning the inglorious history of the Catholic Church regarding it's abuses, particularly the Inquisitions and the support for the Conquistadories, the abuses by the Protestant Churches are often overlooked. The witch hunts being a case in point. Are there any branches of the rotten tree of Christianity which have not been involved in the widespread abuse of humanity?
